It's the official day of love and it's filling the air.
The best way to let someone know that you love them beside's saying it, is showing it. A nice little "I love you" followed by chocolate covered strawberries along with a spa package. Now that's my kind of love. For my birthday (Jan 29th) my mom gave me an amazing homemade coupon book! Two trips to a nail salon, a trip to a casino of my choice, a deep sea fishing trip (yes I'm a "fisher-girl"), and a breakfast in bed. That coupon book has got to be one of the best and most thoughtful gifts that I've ever received. So, just in case you're Google searching some last minute gift ideas for your loved one, I've done this post for you.

#1 Has got to be the homemade coupon book.
This is your time to bring out your craftsy side. If you're in a rush: Fold a piece of paper in half long ways and twice going down to make 6 even squares. Write in your coupon gifts, cut the squares out, punch a whole in the upper left corner and tie a piece of ribbon through the whole into a bow. You can go simple and humorous like five hours of complete t.v control. Or extravagant like a shopping spree at their favorite store.
#2 Dinner for Two
The classic dinner and a movie is always nice. I recommend trying a new place, just make sure that they have good reviews. Or, do the Chef thing and cook a nice meal at home. If you don't consider yourself to be a good cook, YouTube makes it all the easier. Your effort is enough to show you care :)
#3 Breakfast in Bed
Who doesn't love having delicious food brought to them first thing in the morning. A tray with a single rose and a light breakfast - This is something that would be great for the kids to do as a Mommy Valentine's Day gift. Of course supervised by someone else. If you missed breakfast, there's always lunch.
#4 A Groupon Coupon
One year for my sisters birthday, I procrastinated and waited for the perfect gift idea all the way up until her birthday party. Instead of panicking that I didn't have a gift, I hopped on my phone and onto my Groupon app. I purchased her a beautiful pair of earrings, then put my phone in a bag with the picture up. Yes, it was weird at first when she pulled my phone out of a bag, but when she saw the picture she was more excited for the earrings. That was definitely a funny moment and it worked.
I was going to make #5 the good 'ole "movie hop", but now-a-days movies and shows are so readily available and you don't even have to leave the house. Not just Netflix but Hulu, the Xfinity app and even Amazon all have countless movies at the ready. If you don't have an account, hop on YouTube for loads of free movies. So grab a blanket, pop some popcorn and get cozy.
#6 Arts & Crafts
This may not be a last minute option but it's great fun for later. Sign up for a pottery or painting class. Not only is it a lot of fun but you can get your hands dirty and possibly reenact the scene from one of my favorite movies, Ghost.
#7 Indoor Picnic
Where I'm located feels like 0 degrees outside (literally), so an outdoor picnic is out of the question. BUT, an indoor picnic can be just as nice. Order some take-out, I prefer Chinese or Chipotle. Pack up a couple plates and forks, a candle or two, napkins and a blanket. Find a nice clean space on the floor and set-up the ultimate indoor picnic either at their place or yours. Lovely :)
I wish you all a day filled with love and chocolates!
